I can’t
believe it’s already Thanksgiving week! I’ll be honest, I think it’s going to
be hard not being home for Thanksgiving to celebrate it with my family—but it will
be good to celebrate it with my team here.
It’s been fun being able to talk about Thanksgiving with the people here
and share with them what the holiday is all about. Every Monday at the end of
the Eden Bus, we have a time that we call “God Slot” where we talk about…you
guessed it! God! We also pray at the end. Last night we got to talk about
Thanksgiving with the kids and I honestly think that it was the best God Slot
yet! The kids were more attentive than I’ve ever seen them be before, and it
was nearly dead silent during the prayer. Praise God!
Tonight at
Brownies, Christine and I got to plan the whole evening. We helped the girls
make pumpkin pies, we told them the story of the first Thanksgiving, and we
made Indian headdresses—it was so much fun! Unfortunately the pies weren’t
completely cooked at the end so we’re going to have to freeze them and eat them
in two weeks—because next week we’re going ice skating at Piccadilly Gardens!!
I love going to Brownies—I get to see a lot of the girls there at their schools
when we go for assemblies and lunch clubs. It’s so neat to hear them talk about
what the assembly was about and how much they enjoyed it—they are so precious!!
I pray that
each of you would have a truly blessed time with your families this week. You
are all in my prayers and are truly a blessing to me!
Keep smiling! This Thanksgiving I am thankful for people like you who, at a young age, are acting on their faith in a serious yet loving way. Keep praying and praising.
Hilary!
I am thankful for you and for everything you are doing! I hope y’all have a great week, and Happy Thanksgiving! I am praying for you!
Love you lots!
